Ipes has been shortlisted as the Condor Ferries Employer of the Year at this year's Guernsey Awards for Achievement.
12 local businesses have been named as potential winners of the five awards at the annual event.
Ipes is joined by Investec Bank (CI) Ltd and one of Guernsey’s main supermarkets, Waitrose, for the chance to become the recipient of the Condor Ferries Employer of the Year. The judges found all three businesses had improved their business performance over the past year due to their investment in staff development.
A total of 36 businesses entered the awards and following a judging process 12 of those have been shortlisted.
Andrew Whittaker, Managing Director, Ipes Guernsey, says, “Over the last 18 months Ipes has significantly invested in its training infrastructure through the appointment of a dedicated Training Officer and the launch of the iLearn training scheme, which has resulted in the business achieving a high level of success.”
“In the first 12 months of the formalised training programme and the appointment of our Training Officer the business achieved a 100% staff retention rate a first in the company’s 13 year history. One of our ISCA students through the support of the iLearn programme managed to achieve the best worldwide score in one of his papers. We are delighted that we have been shortlisted for this award and have been able to share our story.”
'We believe our strength lies in our ability to recruit and retain the right people and today’s increasingly complicated fund structures necessitate highly-skilled personnel.” Whittaker concludes.
The winners of the awards will be announced at the Awards gala evening at Beau Sejour on Thursday 6th February 2014.
