Staff at Ipes Guernsey raised more than £1,500 for Comic Relief through organising and taking part in a variety of activities.
Throughout the day the 80 strong team, who have recently been brought together in one building, following an office move, organised fundraising events including selling bacon rolls, a name the baby photo competition and a floral raffle.
David McGuigan, Chairman of the Ipes Sports and Social Committee says, “We are delighted to have contributed to Comic Relief 2011, and I hope that our small contribution will make a positive difference to some lives. It was great that everyone got into the spirit of fund raising on the day and it turned into a lot of fun.”
The day began with the Executive Team donning red wigs and aprons to serve morning coffee and cake to staff. Later, the eagerly awaited sponsored leg waxing saw members of the local management team endure some short term pain. Managing Director Michel Davy led the way with Client Directors Andrew Carré and Craig Long reluctantly agreeing to roll their trousers up.
Michel Davy, Managing Director of Ipes Guernsey says, “Although I had to endure some pain, it was great to see everyone getting involved in the fundraising efforts. As well as raising money for a very worthy cause it also generated a real buzz and got the whole office working together and doing things outside their day to day activities. The Company was more than happy to support these efforts and we are already planning more fundraising events. “
Comic Relief is a national charity which strives to create a world free from poverty. Their mission is to drive positive change through the power of entertainment and their campaign this year has raised more than £75m.
