Home-Start Guernsey is a charity that offers support, friendship and practical help to parents with young children in the Bailiwick.
Staff at the Guernsey office voted for Home-Start which will benefit from its annual fundraising initiatives. There are also plans to dedicate CSR time to support the charity.
Home-Start offers a blend of support and friendship through home visiting. The volunteers work with families by encouraging parents’ strengths and emotional well-being for the benefit of their children. Support can be practical or emotional, but is always free, confidential and non-judgemental.
During 2016 volunteers spent more than 700 hours supporting families, 66 children under five and 30 children over five have received support from the group or a home visiting volunteer.
Ipes held its first charity day of the year on St Patrick’s Day, it took on an Irish theme with a bake off, meat raffle and dress down day and more than £600 was raised.
