Ipes has moved its Guernsey operation to new offices in the Royal Chambers development in the heart of St Peter Port.
Established in 1998 in Guernsey, with just five people the firm has grown to 120 people strong, and has opened further offices in London, Jersey and most recently Luxembourg. With the Guernsey operation now 80 strong, this move to new office space is the latest in a number of steps within Ipes’ development plan.
Michel Davy, Managing Director for Ipes Guernsey says, “During 2011 we are very positive about the outlook for growth in our business. We therefore needed larger premises to accommodate our expanding team and we also wanted a modern professional office space, which reflects the character of our business.”
Attracting new talent to the business is an important goal for this year. Our success to date has very much been based on the quality of our people and we hope our new prestigious premises will provide an additional draw,” Davy concludes.
Ipes becomes one of the latest tenants in the new Royal Chambers development which is also home to Private Equity Fund Manager Terra Firma and Ernst & Young one of the “Big Four” accountancy firms.
Ipes is the second largest Fund Administrator in Guernsey with more than $36bn of assets under administration.
During 2010, the firm took on 23 new mandates, despite challenging market conditions. It has also made two senior appointments in its London and Jersey offices.
Andrew Whittaker and Nigel Strachan have been appointed as Managing Directors for London and Jersey respectively.
Both are experienced industry figures with more than 35 years combined funds experience.
Ipes Group Chief Executive Kevin Brennan says, “We continue to support our growth ambition with investment in these senior appointments, upgraded office locations in London and Guernsey, and further development of our platform technologies. The AIFM Directive will drive opportunity and as a key service provider, we intend to be at the forefront of meeting client needs and to maintain our reputation for delivering excellence.”
