Ipes has agreed to extend its sponsorship of the Guernsey World Aid Walk by a further three years.
The Company has been associated with the walk for more than 10 years and last year partnered the event for its 40th anniversary.
The walk annually held in Guernsey takes place on the May Bank Holiday Monday which this year falls on May 2nd.
Over the last 40 years the event has raised more than three quarters of a million for its chosen charities. Oxfam, Save the Children, Action Aid and Christian Aid have all benefited from the proceeds of the walk and two years ago the Guernsey based charity The Tumaini Fund was added as a beneficiary with Hope for a Child most recently coming on board.
Ipes’ sponsorship of the event enables every penny raised by walkers to go directly to the charities. The Company also provides marketing support in the run up to the walk and man power on the day itself.
Ipes Guernsey Managing Director Michel Davy says, “Ipes is extremely proud to be associated with this local event. The walk is one of Guernsey’s most popular and not only raises money for life saving causes but also provides the wider community with a fun challenging event to take part in.”
'Our staff also enjoy pitching in and taking part whether that be walking the 2kms, manning check points or handing out medals to participants. The walk’s 40th anniversary was the most successful in its history and we are hoping that our support will enable record breaking amounts to continue to be raised.” Davy concludes.
Bella Farrell Chair of the World Aid Walk says,”We love organising the walk knowing that because of our sponsors support all our efforts help the poorest people on our planet.”
