Ipes brought together its training offering into a bespoke programme a year ago this month following the appointment of a dedicated Training Officer.
During the first year the structured programme has increased the company’s staff retention rate significantly and enabled one of Ipes’ ICSA students to gain the best paper worldwide in the Financial Reporting and Analysis module. 86% of Ipes’ staff are either professionally qualified or part qualified and every employee is a member of the iLearn programme.
The iLearn scheme encompasses both internal and external training and provides each individual with a bespoke route map which is designed for them by the Training Officer and reviewed internally on an annual basis.
The programme uses in house experts, external training providers, consultants from the Big Four accountancy firms and the Magic Circle law firms to deliver the training. Through Ipes controlling the scheme in house the training can be tailored to individual’s needs and the needs of the business.
Barry McClay, Chief Operating Officer says, “The formal training scheme has been running for a year and in that time we have seen tangible results of its success. The programme has motivated individuals through providing them with a structured development programme and has been key in training our staff to maintain our high standards of client service.”
“The scheme provides us with an advantage when recruiting as it enables us to attract and retain the highest calibre of individual and provides our clients with the best possible people to administer their funds,” Barry McClay concludes.
Jennifer Hartley, Administrator describes her experience of the scheme, “I find training helps me if it’s done well. The Ipes trainers came across as true experts, and I was impressed that the company hired outside trainers too. All of the tutors were open and answered my questions. I learned a great deal about Ipes and private equity, and especially how to use the software. I feel confident in my role within Ipes.”
“From day one, the on going support has been very good. As an Ipes newbie, my buddy helps me with-day-to-day on the job training. My calendar is packed with training sessions. I have really enjoyed the training and I have learned a lot already!” says Clare Abu-Rahmoun, Senior Fund Accountant.
Ipes is an ACCA platinum and CPD approved employer, it employs 140 people across four offices in Guernsey, Jersey, London and Luxembourg and has more than $50bn of assets under administration and is ISAE 3402 and AAF 01/06 accredited.
