Fund Accountant - London

Ipes is seeking a Fund Accountant to prepare accounts and other related accounting activities driven by client needs and to oversee and review the work produced by junior memebers of staff.

Key responsibilities

  • All work undertaken complies with the Fund's documentation and relevant regulatory requirements and anti-money laundering regulations
  • Assisting with the training, coaching and development of staff
  • Promoting excellent relationships with clients of the company
  • Deputising if required during Line Manager Absences
  • Ensuring correct recording of revenue

Technical responsibilities

  • Producing management, interim and audited accounts
  • Controlling and monitoring the bookkeeping process and take ownership of the ledgers
  • Preparing carried interest and other calculations in accordance with the fund documentation
  • Calculating and monitoring capital adequacy of licensed entities in accordance with regulations
  • Carrying out planning of annual audits and liaising with clients to establish timetables for the receipt of valuations and advisers reports and other relevant information
  • Liaising with auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit process
  • May act as a Signatory

Staffing specification

  • Prior practical accounting experience in a financial institution or professional services firm
  • Strong IT/system skills
  • Consistently work accurately under pressure
  • Previous experience and knowledge of accounting, Private Equity administration or investment banking
  • Sound understanding of applicable laws, regulations and rules
  • Team member
  • Familiar with UK GAAP/IFRS
