Ipes makes two new senior appointments
Ipes is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Grainger as Chairman Ipes Guernsey (Holdings) Limited and Gavin Hayman as Chief Financial Officer. Connie Helyar, Ipes’ Co-Founder and former Chairman, has stepped down and become a consultant to the firm.
The appointments of Richard Grainger and Gavin Hayman complete the Ipes senior management team following the firm’s management buyout by RJD Partners in September 2008. The senior management team is led by Kevin Brennan, Chief Executive and comprises Julie Jones, Commercial Director and Barry McClay, Operations Director.
Ipes is one of the leading offshore providers of dedicated private equity fund administration services with over US$36bn assets under administration. Since the MBO, Ipes has demonstrated strong growth in terms of new business wins. Ipes also completed a successful debt refinancing in November 2008 demonstrating the business’s strong cashflow and client base.
Richard Grainger was Chief Executive of Close Brothers Corporate Finance Limited for six years and remains as Chairman of the company. His career in the City of London spans over 25 years having qualified as a chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse.
Gavin Hayman joins Ipes from Porton Capital, a private equity fund manager specialising in the commercialisation of technologies from UK Government Agencies and Universities, where he was Technical Director responsible for managing several funds and the legal aspects relating to group structure, investments and potential exit vehicles. He also led the fund valuation review team and was instrumental in establishing Porton Capital’s Dubai office.
Commenting on these appointments, Kevin Brennan, Chief Executive, said:
“We are delighted to welcome Richard and Gavin to the senior management team. Richard has extensive experience across the private equity industry and will play an invaluable role as we seek to further grow the business. Gavin has a high level of experience in fund administration as well as an impressive record in implementing key management strategies. We believe the business is at an exciting phase as more and more private equity companies choose to outsource their fund administration function given greater transparency requirements and need for cost efficiencies.”
“Connie’s vision, business development skills and passion have been at the heart of Ipes’ growth and success. We thank her for the invaluable contribution she has made to the business, and I am delighted that we will continue to draw upon her expertise in the future.”
