Ipes shortlisted for prestigious business awards

Ipes, one of Europe’s leading private equity fund administrators, has been shortlisted for the Best Large Business category in this year’s Guernsey Achievement Awards.

The shortlisting comes a year after the company’s Management Buyout and is a fitting end to a successful year which has seen the business take on 23 new mandates in challenging markets.

Ipes was established in Guernsey in 1998 with a team of just five people. Today, it employs over 110 multi-skilled professionals and has expanded into Jersey and London with plans to open a fourth office in Luxembourg in the first part of next year. Since the MBO a series of executive level appointments have bolstered the senior team with Richard Grainger appointed as Chairman and Gavin Hayman as CFO. Additionally, two Client Directors have been appointed as Directors to the Guernsey Board.

Ipes Chief Executive Kevin Brennan said, “This is the first time that Ipes has entered the Awards. We felt the time was right to highlight our achievements, particularly given our success following the MBO in 2008. We are proud to have made it through to the final stages.”

As a locally founded business, Ipes has invested heavily in a number of key community initiatives. For the last ten years Ipes has been the sole sponsor for the World Aid Walk and will continue that support for the event’s 40th anniversary next year.

Kevin Brennan continued, “Arguably our biggest challenge was to move Ipes in its original form, to a multi-jurisdictional business with the vision and capability to take advantage of the opportunities in the private equity industry globally whilst also retaining its core values. We felt that entering the Awards was a good way of demonstrating to staff and to the Guernsey community how far we’ve come.”

Entry into the Guernsey Awards involved fulfilling set criteria in areas including business performance and corporate responsibility. Last week representatives from the Management team presented additional information to the panel of judges and will now await the awards evening in February when the winners will be revealed.

Separately Ipes has also been shortlisted for the FundDomiciles.com Service Provider of the Year Award which is voted for by the PE industry.
