Ipes Guernsey supports innovative local business initiative

Ipes Guernsey is supporting The Tony Carey Meetings Programme, a new project founded by The Guernsey Chamber of Commerce and the local branch of the Institute of Directors.

The purpose of the scheme, which brings together a select group of business leaders, is to put in place a framework through which they can share ideas, experiences and best practice about how they run their companies.

Ipes Guernsey’s Managing Director Michel Davy and Operations Director Karen Haith both took part in the AO Hall sponsored scheme.

Karen Haith explains how the programme worked, “Initially we attended a breakfast for all the participants where we were put into pairs. The next stage involved meeting our partner for a lunch where we discussed set themes including strategic vision for our businesses, how to get the best out of our people and how as local businesses we can be good corporate citizens. The final part involved another group breakfast where we shared our experiences the wider group.'

” While the initiative allowed us to pass on our thoughts and share some of our business expertise it also allowed us to listen and receive the views of other professionals. The listening aspect was particularly helpful and having set themes to discuss meant our conversation was very focused”, Karen Haith concludes.

Michel Davy, Managing Director Ipes Guernsey says,” As a local firm we are keen to support schemes which help to benefit the Island’s business community. This scheme seemed a great way to share our ideas and learn about what’s made other local businesses successful. It is really valuable to listen and it has been interesting to hear the current commercial trends in the island.”
